The Jaypee Institute of Information Technology Declared deemed to be University Under Section 3 of UGC Act. 1957 vide Notification No. F.9-27/2000-U.3 dated 1st November, 2004 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and further extended vide their letter of even No. dated 01 Oct 2008.
Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) was the first amongst three Institutes raised by the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS).

JIIT is situated near the Electronic City Noida in the area meant for educational Institutions as provided for by the Noida Authority.
