About Mangalore University

Mangalore University has grown impressively since its inception with 190 affiliated colleges including two constituent colleges, one at Mangalore and another at Madikeri, taken over by the University of Government of Karnataka in 1992. The University has established the PG Centre, Cauvery campus at Madikeri, which offers Postgraduate courses in Microbiology and Biochemistry. Mangalore University campus at Mangalagangothri, located about 20 km to the south-east of the historic coastal town of Mangalore, sets the tone for the educational endeavors of the three districts under the jurisdiction of the University. It is a picturesque campus that sprawls over 333 acres, overlooking the confluence of the river Nethravathi with the Arabian Sea on the one side, and the cloud-capped Western Ghats on the other. It grew out of a modest post-graduate centre of the University of Mysore to become the focal point of an independent University in 1980. The campus, which once housed a mere three postgraduate departments, now has twenty-five postgraduate departments, supported by modern infrastructure and experienced faculty. The University has established several endowment chairs with the objective of enabling studies on the development achieved in areas such as bank management, yoga, ayurveda, Kanakadasa studies, Sanskrit literature, literary criticism, Christianity, rural development, ecology and environment, Tulu language, literature, culture and visual/fine arts. Dr. Ambedkar Study Centre, Kanakadasa Adhyayana Peetha, Yakshagana Study Centre and Ambigara Chowdayya Peetha work towards an in-depth study of philosophy and its relevance to the present time. The endowment chairs of the University have helped to strengthen the University’s links with society.

Mangalore University Admission 2019

The University invites applications for admission to the Undergraduateandpostgraduate programmes in various fields for the academic year 2019-19. The admission for some courses will be through an Entrance Test which will be held by the respective departments. The application can be obtained through both the online mode and the offline mode and the duly filled in Application form must be submitted by July, 2019 (tentative).

Mangalore University is an A Grade NAAC accredited one offering higher education in the city of Mangalore through the 208 affiliated colleges/institutions that includes 2 constituent colleges, 4 law, 8 education and 5 autonomous institutions respectively. The university courses are available in the following major disciplines namely: Science, Arts, Commerce, and Education respectively. The candidates can enroll in different university programmes through a common entrance exam held for this purpose every year in the June/ July months. The university examinations are organized through semester system for all the enrolled candidates in different courses.

Mangalore University Exam Admit Card Download

Mangalore University will conduct a written exam for BA, B.Com, B.SC, BBB students very soon in this year. It will be updated on the officialwebsite of the university. Before exams students need to download their Hall Ticket or Admit Card. Admit card is must for each and every student. Without admit card nobody will not be allowed for exams. So first of all the students need to download the admit card after that they can enter the examination hall. Admit card should be proper means all the student’s identities should be matched during the verification time. If anybody found guilty, these students will be suspended by the management team. Mobile and cell phones are strictly not allowed on the examination campus so keep your cell phones outside the classrooms when will you come for exams.
