Dr. C.V. Raman University (CVRU) is a premier science, technology and professional education University of Chhattisgarh having its campus at Bilaspur, Kargi Road-Kota.CVRU has been set up by the All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT). This University has been named after the first Nobel Laureate of the country in the field of Science, Dr. C.V. Raman. The University is situated at Kota Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). The University has been notified on 3rd November 2006 and Shri Santosh Choubey has been appointed as its first Chancellor. Dr. A. S. Zadgaonkar has become the first Vice Chancellor and Shri Shailesh Pandey has taken over as the Registrar of the University. It was affiliated as a Private University by the Government of Chhattisgarh vide its Notification No.29 of 2006 dated 3rd November 2006. Dr. C.V. Raman University was notified on 3rd November 2006 and formally inaugurated on 14th October 2007. DR. C.V. RAMAN University was set up by All India Society for Electronics Computer Technology (AISECT). The All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT) is the sponsoring organization of Dr. C. V. Raman University. AISECT, established in the mid-eighties is today India’s largest IT training and educational services network over 5,000 centers spread across 30 states and Union territories in India. It is named after Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, an Indian physicist and Nobel laureate.
