Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday University (MGCGV) is a rural university at Chitrakoot, India.It was established on February 12, 1991 by Social activist Nanaji Deshmukh,. Named after Mahatma Gandhi this university aims to provide higher education to people living in rural areas. The university is an institute dedicated for teaching, learning and research. It offers its students and staff members facilities such as a central library, computer centre and mess.

To create enlightened future citizenry and realize Gandhiji’s dream of rural development, MGCGV on the banks of the holy river Mandakini through a separate MP Government Act (9, 1991) on the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri at Chitrakoot, Distt. Satna (M.P.). The main objectives of the university are to provide education and dissemination of appropriate technology. The MGCGV has jurisdiction in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The university is making efforts to establish its centre at various places. The university has a great role to play in the field of rural development through higher education and in preparing innovative models of rural development. The MGCGV is presenting a new vision with a judicious blend of Indian culture and modernity for sustainable rural development.

Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya Admission 2019

The University has been accredited Grade A by NAAC. The university offers 50 UG and PG courses under 16 departments. The admissions to the various courses offered by the university are expected to begin in June, 2019. Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) conducts separate entrance test followed by counselling to offer admission. For B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering, students have to qualify in PAT conducted by University followed by counselling.

Selection procedure:

  • The candidates need to fill the applications online.
  • The admission to all the UG courses is based on the written Entrance Test.
  • The admission to B.Tech Agriculture Engineering is based on PAT followed by counselling.


PG Selection Procedure:

  • The admission to all PG courses is based up on the entrance test conducted by the university.

  • The admission to MBA is based on the entrance test and counseling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of MP.

  1. The applications have to be submitted online for all the courses.
  2. The application fee has to be submitted to the University bank account.

  1. The fee for the candidates is INR 600/- (INR 300/- for women and SC/ST candidates of MP).

Reservation Criteria

  • 30% seats in all the courses are reserved for females.
  • 80% seats are reserved for the candidates from MP and 20% for the other states candidates.
  • For SC/ ST candidates, the seats are reserved as per the rules of state government.


Chitrakoot University Exam Admit Card Download

Candidates who have successfully submitted the application form can only download the admit card from the university website. Admit card is a required document to sit for the exam.

It is candidate’s responsibility to make sure that, all the information which is mentioned on the admit card like Name, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Roll Number and Exam Center etc. must be correct and verified with original documents.

Students have bring the admit card at the examination center. Else they cannot enter inside the exam center.
