Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar during its short span of seven years has made considearble progress in Teaching, Research and Extension. The University has also made its presence felt globally by signing MOU’s with renowned institutes of USA, France, China, Bangladesh, Belgium and Sweden. The salient achievements include obtaining patents, creating video conferencing facilities, offering of new degree and diploma programmes and initiation to establish two new Veterinary Colleges and one Dairy Science College. one Institute for Wildlife Veterinary Research, 3 research centres i.e. Canine Research and Information Centre, Fisheries Research and Information Centre and Buffalo Research and Information centre along with extending Veterinary Clinical Services at evening hours. New degree programmes designed by this university include MBA (Food and Dairy Business) under self financing scheme, M.V.Sc. (Wild Life) and two year diploma in Animal Husbandry.
The flow of foreign nationals seeking admissions to the Master’s and Doctoral degree programme in Veterinary, Animal, Dairy and Fisheries Sciences is steadily increasing. The University has entered MOU for implementation of University of Minnesota TATA group fellowship and undertake externship in Veterinary Clinical Science for final year B.V.Sc @ A.H.students from the year 2010-11 and under this program three students have undergone 12 weeks training at University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine for the academic year 2010-11. At present Afghan students are enrolled at KVAFSU and pursuing PG degree programme in Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
